She's a bit shy yet finds her feet when it's about early childhood care and education. Let's hear how she changed the gear of her professional life with Shanti Juniors.
Hi, Ms Jyotirmayi, How are you? Please tell us about your preschool launch phase with Shanti Juniors.
Hi Shivani, I am good, thank you! I had been an assistant teacher before starting this venture. It was Dec'2019 when I signed up for the Preschool franchise and less than I knew about preschool operations, but I was passionate and loved to be with kids. I can take care of them holistically.
And Yes, I was very reserved as I come from an orthodox family and hadn't much exposure to the business world. Hence, I felt low on confidence earlier. However, I gradually picked up, and the parents were looking for someone in their area who could give personal attention to their child and they found it with us. I am thankful to those parents who trusted us and encouraged us to move ahead. The counsellor and marketing training helped me greatly from Shanti Juniors - Head Office. It gave our efforts the right direction, and we could reach upto 50 admissions sooner than we thought.
Wow, Any Challenges you faced during this time?
In our area, there were other branded preschools, too. I was worried initially, but in the later stage, when parents saw our preschool setup material, Montessori toys and our approach, they found it the best 2nd home for their children. I have the highest admissions in my area, even though there are 11-12 other branded and non-branded preschools collectively.
That's amazing; what are the top things your parents think about your preschool?
Well, the top thing they feel is safety and security; we teach children about all the scenarios from their surroundings, practical learning, touch and feel - that has a better recall value and recognition, Experiential learning. Ya. that's what comes to my mind now. :-D
Yes, I used to feel very happy when parents said that their children often don't listen to them, but since they've started coming to our preschool, they found some significant development in their children. E.g. a parent said, "When we used to ask our children to sleep early daily, they didn't. however, since they have heard it in school, they insist and tell us that we should sleep early."
How Sweet? We talk about this kind of memories when we say – Celebrate Childhood, So Ms. Jyotirmayi, What do you aim for ahead with Shanti Juniors?
I love this, and so do my in-laws. They're proud of me, my husband has been supportive to me for accounting and operations, and everyone around me has started contributing, including the Head office, so I soon plan to open a few more branches of Shanti Juniors in the coming years. HO Provides us with A to Z support; It's just that we've to follow it with dedication and innovation.
